Citizen Science initiative in Ferrara, Italy

In Summary: promote Citizen Science  to democratize environmental policies

The Citizen Science initiative, part of the Horizon Europe Usage Project, aims to promote civic activism to address environmental emergencies, such as urban heat islands. Citizens can collect air temperature data using simple and accessible technologies (like MeteoTrackers). The idea is that this data can be used to co-design urban policies.

During the recent Interno Verde Festival in Ferrara, students from the Copernico Institute, already involved in the project, helped us present the initiative and monitor the temperature in six gardens, supporting the promotion of the project and raising public awareness on these issues.
