2023, Oct 1. USAGE will join the EuroGEO and Open-Earth Monitor workshops in Bozen in early October to present project activities on thermal mapping, tree species identifications.

2023, 11 June. Partners met Zaragoza (Spain) to discuss ongoing activities and incoming deliverables.

2023, February 24. Piergiorgio Cipriano, from Deda Next, is one of the speakers at the event on tools to measure outdoor comfort. 

2023, February 1°. The workshop showcases citizen science activities foreseen for the Ferrara pilot in 2023, 2024, and 2025 on topics such as: heat island and climatic data; rainfalls and flooding; biodiversity.

2023, February 1°. The Municipality of Ferrara hosted a public event on how to deal with climate change in cities with urban planning and Nature Based Solutions. 

2023, February 1°. As part of the USAGE Project, our partner OGC hosted a workshop on FAIR solutions for dynamic sensor data.

2023, January 31. The first meeting to define technical details about a rainfall monitoring network, deployed by the Municipality of Ferrara within the USAGE Project.

2023, January 31. One of the goals of the USAGE Project in Ferrara is to sign a long-term multilateral agreement for data space. 

From January 31 to February 2, USAGE project partners are meeting in Ferrara (Italy) to discuss with local policy makers, experts, businesses, academia, public bodies, and citizens.

Our project coordinator, Oscar Corcho, from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, is presenting our project at the EuroGEO workshop, in a joint discussion with other projects and stakeholders interested in the development of Green Deal data spaces.

About EuroGEO 2022: the European Commission, the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation of the Hellenic Ministry of Development and Investments, and the Greek GEO Office functioning under the National Observatory of Athens are responsible for managing the workshop from Wednesday 7 December to Friday 9 December 2022 at Electra Palace Hotel (Athens, Greece). 

Webinar on Data and environmental policies at urban level

29th November 2022 (Ferrara)

The webinar Environmental Policies and data at the urban scale was organised on 29 November 2022 by Deda Next to start a conversation on data, Green New Deal and local Green Deals (click here to open outputs of the webinar).

The webinar was introduced by Councillor Alessandro Balboni of the Municipality of Ferrara; on the virtual stage, experts from National reseache centres, univesity and professional boards discussed about local impacts of climate changes, urban planning and green infrastructures , moderated by Alessandro Rossi (ANCI-ER, already involved in the SBAM initiative):

To do this, it is crucial," concluded Luigi Zanella , Innovation Lead of Deda Next - to involve businesses, citizens, volunteer networks, health facilities, professionals, academia and research. It is also necessary to to share good practices, to reason about experiences already experienced. Above all, connect intelligences because the solutions to the complex problems posed by climate change are multidisciplinary.

USAGE is going to Ferrara (Italy). We are going to attend the first Datathon of the City on November 2022. 

Piergiorgio Cipriano (Deda Next) and Fabio Remondino (FBK) were coach and jury member of the Datathon 2022. 

Deda Next is organizing the city of Ferrara's first Datathon with the support of the municipality and the Horizon 2020 Air-Break project. How to use data in innovative ways and applications to solve local urban challenges such as public greening, extreme events, mobility, air quality? Over 64 data-addicted and students scoured 30 open databases to ready-to-use design creative solutions.
