Satellite Land Surface Temperature over Ferrara

2023, April 12. One of the ongoing activities of WP4 of the USAGE project is the development of a pipeline that enables citizens and municipalities to identify the hot spots in their cities. The work is focused on providing easy access to the Urban Heat Island's (UHI) current state in the city as well as its short-term prediction. 

The proposed pipeline can be used not only as a forecasting tool, but also as a UHI mitigation and planning tool by changing the ‘semi-static’ layers that involve the study area. This allows municipalities to predict the effects of their decisions.
