USAGE interviews Giacomo Martirano from Epsilon Italia
What is the main role of Epsilon Italia in the USAGE project?
EPSIT is responsible for the validation of the USAGE approach in the four pilot cities.
What is a data space?
A data space is an ecosystem where all the different actors playing a role in data driven processes (policy making, decision making, data capture, data processing, data harmonisation, information extraction, data sharing, data use, data maintenance, data brokerage, data intermediation, data licensing, data protection, etc.) agree on mechanisms to ensure trustworthy and interoperable data flows within and across sectors, supporting the solutions to societal challenges.
What is the expected impact of USAGE in the short and long term?
USAGE expected impact in the short term is twofold:
to facilitate the achievement of the policy-driven goals addressed by the several use cases in the four pilot cities
to increase the awareness of the benefits gained by all the data space actors from the adoption of the USAGE approach to set-up and operate an urban data space for the Green Deal
On the other hand, USAGE expected impact in the long term include:
to consolidate the short term impacts in the four pilot cities
the adoption of the USAGE approach by other cities
