USAGE interviews Natalia Oprea from Lisbon Council
What is the main role of Lisbon Council in the USAGE project?
The Lisbon Council is the leader of Work Package 2 and is engaged in supporting pilot city stakeholders in identifying needs and challenges related to Green Deal priorities as well as promoting data-driven policymaking and implementation.
How does your expertise contribute to the overall goals of the USAGE project?
The LiC has extensive expertise in conducting policy analysis focused on digital transformation, open (government) data utilisation for public good, smart cities and citizen science. Drawing from this knowledge, our role is to ensure the connection between strategic planing and the use of data in developing solutions and ensuring their widespread adoption by city stakeholders.
What is the role of end-users and stakeholder when proposing innovative solutions that support the EU Green Deal?
In an urban green deal data space, various stakeholders fulfil multiple roles. Businesses. citizens, universities and other relevant entities generate data which cities can leverage to address local climate challenges. For example. citizens can be involved in data collection initiatives, while universities can also support their processing. At the same time, these actors can share, access and use data within the urban data space, fostering collaboration. Finally, other actors serve as data intermediaries ensuring adherence to quality, standards and rules throughout the data collection and exchange process.
